Operations and Technology

The Operations and Technology Program (OTP) is focused on developing leaders who are prepared to position The Nielsen Company for growth by achieving service excellence, driving the convergence of data, processes, tools and people, and delivering cost leadership. OTP Associates will participate over a two-year period in developing innovative technology and process improvement solutions in order to help our clients grow and compete more effectively. Within OTP, associates pursue career development assignments in either of two career paths: Operations or Technology.

Rotation Overview

As you move through this program, you will assume roles of increasing responsibility that focus on vital business processes. While rotation opportunities differ for each of the two tracks (Operations or Technology), the underlying purpose of each rotation is similar.

First and Second Rotations: Rotations will be available in the Chicago, IL and Tampa, FL areas. The purpose of the first year’s development assignments is to ensure that each associate has a solid skills foundation and understanding of the Nielsen business.

Third Rotation: This will be a unique opportunity for you to gain insight into one of the Nielsen client organizations and processes. These “client-facing” rotations may be within a team dedicated to a client or product, or may actually provide an opportunity for you to “co-locate” in the client business. Relocation for this rotation assignment may be required.

Fourth Rotation: The last assignment will be one of increasing responsibility and impact on the business as the associate leverages all of his/her experience and training to deliver business results. These assignments may involve project management, business process improvement initiatives or a deeper dive into a specific technology or business process. The selection of this rotation is developed collaboratively with the business sponsors. Opportunities for an international rotation may be made available to select individuals. Relocation may be necessary for fourth rotation assignments.
